Growing Furniture
It seems like nature is making it’s way back inside. I’ve spotted a lot mashing up of branches with manufacturing to create a piece of useful, yet pretty neat piece of furniture. Two of my favorites are the Branch Bookshelf and the Tree Table.
The Branch Bookshelf is something that I thought would be pretty easy to reproduce myself, but after taking some time looking for the right branch I’m not so sure. I think a trip to the woods are in order.

The Tree Table would probably be a lot more difficult to reproduce, but if you had a spare table top and the patience to construct the base, I’m sure it would be possible. My father used to spend his weekends combing beaches for drift wood, which he sandblasted and varnished, before fashioning into natural sculptures. I might be looking for a few tips from him over the next couple of months.
