101 in 1001 Update

Last year on the 1st of January I began the 100 things in 1001 days challenge. The challenge was initially created by Michael Green

According to the website…

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

It seems like a good time of year to take some time and reflect on my progress

Bold: Successful
Underline: I’m going to focus my energy on these
Italics: Underway
Strikeout: Not working out so well

Wicked. I’m not sure I’d get time to even write a list like that, never mind getting to do most of it.

Amazing. A very inspirational list. I’m off to make my own and will post it online two. What a fantastic idea. I’ve lots of dreams and desires and have some time in my life right now. It’d be nice to make a list and tick some of them off.
Thanks for your inspiration, Clare

@John Thanks John, I actually did this list last year. I think I remember using it to distract myself from a deadline :) It’s actually motivated me to actually achieve more goals than I would have without it though. Now, when an opportunity arises, I think ‘That’s on my list’… :)

@Clare Thanks Clare, I’ve just subscribed to your blog. Look forward to reading some of your list!

I’m so glad I stumbled across your blog and found this post. I really love the realistic ambition in this challenge. I need more of that in my life.

I’ll start my list as soon as I get some sleep.
