Do you recognise the name? Do they provide a phone number? Do they answer if you call it? Where we were living previously, we got regular stickers from one or two "charities". Checked them out & they appear to be false. Careful reading of the leaflet also makes you realise that they don't actually claim to be giving stuff/money - selling it & keeping the money would also fit the claims. Unfortunately most of them aren't legit. We were warned by a neighbour who works for a charity. I'd do a bit of nosing around and make sure they are a registered charity before donating.
